DUE, a new publication DUE, international review-book directed by Oreste del Buono, shows up as a new presence in the world of technical publishing. The first issue, titled "Tenderness and complexity", concerns a series of considerations by designers and thinkers of the design about some topics regarding the theory of complexity with, in particular, an interview to Paolo Fabris by Antonio Caronia, although it also has lighter contents by Guido Venturini or Stefano Giovannoni or the article by Mendini about the near future. A variegated review for topics, concentrated on some design aspects and its production, not static, with a particularly cared graphical setting, shows up as a cartoon tale-book. The attempt of characterizing as a specialized review allows to concentrate on a field and explore it in its single parts. DUE is also book to read or to leaf through because of its curious images and their cut. Perhaps the small format encloses this meaning , concentrating the topics in more pages. The review certainly wants to create a dialogue between distant universes, establishing an aknowledgement process with the various disciplines, covering different fields and tracing intercommunicating points of contact. Certainly a product to save and collect with care. Concentrated mix of design, animation, West and East, curiosity and whatsoever makes it different from other publications... and it's enough to think about the title: DUE (two).
