 MAGIS / MILAN INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE FAIR 2005


This year the new proposals by Magis prefers to use other materials than plastic and so almost all the new products of the italian company are made by sheet metal (steel and aluminum).

Hex Family – designed by Marc Newson with his very recognizable style and his elegant and refined lines – are the first products with frame in die-cast aluminium inserted a new great collection: this year Magis presents a stacking chair, with seat in wood or polypropylene, and a table with a top in wood.

Dèjà-vu – designed by Naoto Fukasawa – is a stacking stool (2 heights) with legs in anodised aluminium.and Seat in polished die-cast aluminium.

Easy table – designed by Jerzy Seymour – is a family of outdoor stacking tables with plastic legs and a laminated top that well combines with Easy Chair – an armchair in polypropylene realized by the same designer and sturdy for outdoors and for indoors.

Air-Armchair – by Jasper Morrison – a chair with armrests and made in blow-molded polypropylene that continues the path begun with Air-Chair designed since 1999 and produced by Magis in 2001.

Finally three new products by one of Magis’s keynote designers: Konstantin Grcic. Two products of the Family_One, Stool_One – a stool with legs in extruded aluminum profile, a seat and footrest and Table_One – a bistro table with base in concrete, frame in aluminium and top in HPL lamitated. The Konstantin Grcic third new piece is the singular Tin – a chair all made in steel sheeting, with three legs.

Magis also presents the new products created for the Me Too Collection.
Enzo Mari presents the children’s chair Pop, realized in sintered expanded polypropylene.

Julian, by Javier Mariscal, is a rotational-moulded polyethylene children’s chair.

Eero Aarnio has designed Trioli, a children’s chair with three different seat heights that can also be used as a rocker-chair. Realized in rotational-moulded polyethylene.

Little Flare, by Marcel Wanders, is a children’s table with legs in standard injection-moulded polycarbonate transparent clear, tops in MDF with polymeric cover – patterned tops also available – and pen holders in ABS.

Javier Mariscal has designed Ladrillos, a shelving system with shelf supports in rotational-moulded polyethylene. Shelves in compact HPL laminate white with black edge.

El Baul, again by Javier Mariscal, is a trunk/container realized in rotational-moulded polyethylene.

Björn Dahlström has created My House, a curtain-cum-tablecloth in polyester.

Satyendra Pakhalé presents its Puzzle Carpet, with soft expanded polyethylene coupled with polyester fabric.

Puppy, by Eero Aario, is an abstract plastic dog realized in rotational-moulded polyethylene.

Javier Mariscal also presents Nido, a nest/cave made in rotational-moulded polyethylene.

Martí Guixé has designed Football Tape, Adhesive tape to make paper balls made in acrylic non-toxic polypropylene.

Ron Arad presents Voido, Rocking chair realized in blow-moulded polyethylene that is suitable for outdoor use

Trash, by Jasper Morrison, is a waste-paper bin with lid and bin-liner holder made in standard injection-moulded polypropylene.

Stefano Giovannoni presents Tango Family, a range of tables with frame in steel plate (painted in epoxy resin or chromed), pressed and bent. The leg section is semi-circular. Top in HPL laminate or in tempered glass.

Robin Day presents Sussex, table, suitable for outdoor use, with frame in galvanized steel plate and top in compact HPL laminate white 8500.

Ronan Bouroullec and Erwan Bouroullec have designed the Striped Collection: Chair – with or without arms –, Arm-chair, Stool Chaise longue, Sun-bed, Tables, Low Table and High back with frame in steel tube, cataphoretically-treated and painted in polyester powder, seat and back made of translucent polycarbonate slats, top in compact HPL laminate. Standard injection-moulded. All suitable for outdoor use. For Striped Arm-chair, High back, Chaise longue and Sun-bed cushion are also available.
Werner Aisslinger has designed Nic, chair with frame in chromed steel tube, seat in polyamide. Air moulded.

Michael Young presents Magis Wagon, a small table on wheels with frame in sand-blasted die-cast aluminium. The container is made in standard imjection-moulded ABS, the wheels in polyurethane.

Folding Air-Chair, by Jasper Morrison, is a folding chair made in polypropylene with glass fibre added air moulding. Suitable for outdoor use.

Konstantin Grcic ha created Chair_One, an innovative stacking chair with legs in anodised aluminium and seat in die-cast aluminium treated with sputtered fluorinate titanium and painted in polyester powder. Suitable for outdoor use, Chair_One is a flame-retardant product. Seat cushion also available. The seat is also available in swivel version with self-returning mechanism, concrete base painted transparent clear, suitable for floor-fixing.

James Irvine has designed Centomila, stacking chair, also available with arms, with frame in steel tube painted in epoxy resin or chromed, seat and back in standard injection-moulded polypropylene.

Boogie Woogie, by Stefano Giovannoni, is a shelving system stacking and adjoining made in standard injection-moulded ABS. Available with and without back panel.
