 KARTELL

Kartell production has always been founded on experimenting plastic materials and new languages, in co-operation with important designers who are famous all over the world.
Their range of products is daring and can be amazing. For example, both the sofa Bubble Club by Philippe Stark and the sofa Maui by Magistretti, both manufactured with printed polypropylene, are quite audacious. Philippe Stark's design is surely difficult to understand with its strong opposition between the form, which is quite traditional, and the material, which looks too harsh and invariable. On the contrary, this project is greatly innovative because of a material that is not commonly employed for sofas and that allows to use them in new ways; in fact, it can be placed indoor or outdoor, in the living room but also in the garden.
Kartell has always tried to remain flexible and independent, so as to meet the complex requirements of our modern life and way of living. The link between two different projects like One by Piero Lissoni and H&H by Ron Arad is the possibility to join together basic and very simple elements to create more complex objects and forms that can be used in many different ways and have various colours that can be matched.
In particular, H&H is a coloured polypropylene object composed by five different parts joined together so as to give shape to an H. Potentially, there are endless ways to assemble the elements. For example, they can put together to invent open structures and unlimited functions.
