Desall.com in collaboration with Uniteam, presents the Injection Design Award, a co-creation contest. The aim is identifying new and innovative projects of accessories for the of.ce which include the use of injection moulding as production technology and more speci.cally, the technology patented by Uniteam and called One Shot.
Uniteam is an Italian leader company in the .eld of design and construction of injection moulds for plastic
materials and the engineering of process solutions mostly for the automotive sector. The great inclination
towards innovation and turn-key services, the specialization in complex, highly technological and especially
in bi-component products, allows the company to standout compared to its competitors.
The “One Shot” technology developed by Uniteam Italy over the years consists in a single moulding phase
that enables you to obtain objects composed by different materials, such as plastics, rubber and fabric, in a
single moulding process, thus avoiding the use of several moulds and/or several assembling phases.
In this .rst stage of development, you are asked to explore new ideas and innovative solutions for accessories for the office.
The office environment and the way people work has changed: in the same way the objects they need and
they use should change. Focus on designing something new, imagine original functions, shapes, features.
The concepts may be represented with the help of drawings, illustrations, renders, etc.
Participants must take into account the following project constraints:
Production technology is injection moulding;
Maximum dimensions of the molded products are 30cm x 30cm x 30cm. In the case of products such as
accessories sets, the maximum overall dimensions will still have to be 30cm x 30cm x 30cm, while in case
of modular objects, the maximum overall dimensions refer to the single module.
Eligibility and submission
Participation is free of charge and is opened to designers of any nationality and age.
Participants can choose to present one or more projects, but only projects published on the web site
www.desall.com via the upload page devoted to the “Injection Design Award 2012” contest, will be accepted.
Upload phase: 22nd October 2012 at 00:01 - 29th November 2012 at 23:59

White marble of Carrara is the material of time. Famous architects, designers and sculptors have always used white marble to leave their mark. Glass, material mainly used in architecture and design is the symbol of purity and fragility. The union between the two materials apparently so diverse but substantially similar gives rise to Dressed Stone 2010, to give an opportunity to new talent to express their creativity and see their projects manufactured by Antoniolupi. The contests goal is to identify, from the union between the white marble of Carrara and glass, new shapes of water. The environment of referral is the bathroom and wellness area connected with water. The contest targets young designers / architects and students of architecture or industriai design born between 01/01/1973 and 31/12/1991.
The project should consist of a product study for the bathroom where marble and glass have a dialogue amongst themselves.
The three best projects (one for each category; supported and free standing bath tubs/ supported, encased, hung and free standing sinks / bathroom furnishings and accessories) will be awarded (by a jury of International well known architects and journalists of the sector) and 5 other projects will be selected and given "honorable mention".
The first prize consists in the actual manufacturing and introduction into the antoniolupi catalogue with a contract as professional designer. The contest will end with the official awards ceremony which will be held during the «Milano Design week 2010» at the Antoniolupi showroom in Porta Tenaglia where journalists of the top design magazines will be invited.
